Baking new rooms in preexisting regions

If I use background baking to bake an pre-existing region from vanilla/msc after adding new rooms, and then upload a mod will the new rooms in the mod be baked?

baking only activates on rooms fresh out of the leveleditor. Baked rooms remain like that forever. Is room dependent not region dependent, adding a new room only bakes the new one.
Easiest way to see if it was baked is if the txt file of the room changed
