How to Trouble Shoot Rail lines
I've been experimenting with Rail lines, but frequently run into the problem where the train cannot actually go anywhere on account of there being "a problem" somewhere on the rail line. About 80% of the time, the "place where the problem exists" button takes me some place that as far as I can tell appears to be fine. Is there a guide on how the ♥♥♥♥ to actually troubleshoot problems? The vagueness of the tools offered is not helpful and driving me nuts.

Enable cheats, open the train's menu, and press and hold "c." This will display the trains intended path if it exists and hopefully where the actual problem is; otherwise, you'll just have to plot a route manually and look for issues (sections without power if electrified, small breaks, etc.). If you try to send a train to a space for vehicles or scrapping facility and the individual units are bigger than the building's "station length" (look in the building's construction menu popup for this) then it won't be able to enter.

Pressing "h" will show you the nodes at the end of track segments as purple dots, while mousing over a track segment with a track from the construction menu with the "snap" feature (f4) on will highlight adjacent segments in yellow; both of which you can use to find breaks in track.

Good luck, and consider making a post in the support and bugs forum if you still have issues; this forum sees a lot less traffic and is meant more for mods and modding.

Thanks, for the advice. I also reloaded the game a taking a break and that... for some reason caused the issue to disappear as well.
