Mods not loading ingame

Hi,
I installed some (5) common, minor quality of life mods. They are all working for WOTC. However, while they do show up on the 2k launcher, they do not load ingame. The game itself runs smoothly, no issues at all, just no mods. I tried multiple fixes online. Among others i came to the following issues which might help solving:

1. Validating game files tells me, that 2 are missing and will be reaquired (which it promptly does). However, nothing changes and validating again comes to the exact same result: 2 files missing > reaquiring. I tried deleting dl cache. No change

2. starting the game via the ModLauncherWPF.exe gives an error code:

the game won't launch through this of course. Not even when I deselect all mods in the launcher and try to run the game from that launcher without them.

I am guessing, that the missing files from 2. are the ones steam fails to update on 1. Why however, I don't know....

Any help would be appreciated!

Have not opened the wiki link to read, but dropping my 2 pennies anyway. Alternative Mod Launcher on github. Search google, download, install, and use.

The game launcher from 2k is not actually a part of the game and is an add on replacing the actual game launcher. It was never written with XCOM 2 in mind at all and even adding the ability to run mods was done haphazardly and incomplete.

The 2K launcher, for all practical purposes, is half blind. Once it load a mod only partially, it corrupts the config files so they need to be deleted and regenerated. *documents/my games. XCOM 2 wotc, open the center folder, delete the config folder OR in AML, use the tools to force regenerate and the game will launch. AML 100% sees and loads all mods 100%

oh man.... yes AML worked like a charm. I feel stupid for having tried anything else but missed that...

Glad you got it worked out to play the way you want. I dont think you will come up against much you cannot figure out fairly easily, but if you run into a question, feel free to ask.

NOTE: This far after end of development, many mods which depend upon other mods no longer have access to the mods they once need and those have been replaced with other mods including their information. When a dependency is no longer available, search for the newer alternative. When newer and older dependencies for mods clash, make sure that is not really an old version and a newer version. A clash between duplicates which are true duplicates having the same exact contents is not actually a conflict. I keep expecting someone else to write up all the details like this so I can remain lazy and just play and answer questions occasionally! Hahahahaha
