Mods or what?

so, ive noticed, that alot of planes and stuff on the website, has all of these small details, that seems impossible to make, so are they using mods, or just really snkeaky with the mechanics or what? examples: cockpit, seats, small deatails in the windows, etc.

Most planes just use XML edits, which allow for finer details by making parts much smaller, or editing the rotation. (The plane designs are saved in .xml files)

Here are some notes on xml editing.

Edit: Oh, and if you can download and use it without installing any mods, it doesn't use mods (unless you have already installed the required mods), just xml edits :)

I came looking for an answer to the same question. This really wasn't the answer I was hoping for. Sort of sh*tty that you need to hack files to make good stuff. I guess I won't be clocking up many more hours with this game.

Actually its better than a mod really. It means you can use it, on all copies of the game.
Even without XML modding you can make impressive planes though.
