Nope. You end up living in winter, unless you want to use cheat codes. ( If you do, right click on the game in steam, select properties, set launch options,type:"--enablemoddingtools" and ok)

There really needs to be an editor with this game so that players can edit things like this. Winter adds an interesting element to the game but not when it ends up being all the time. Players should be able to determine the extent of winter in a game's setup parameters.

its a key part of the game and also story based if you know the prolog (this planet is dying and thats the reason why its getting Colder and Colder (longer Winter) and in the end the Planet is dead = perma Winter) so if you want a game without Winter go play Civ cause you cant turn of a key funktion also the Allayi need the Winter for perls or they can do nothing anymore in late..

Winter is an amazing feature to this game, suriviving them is one of the things that make this game unique. I cant play without it even when winter hits and the dust income drops a crap ton, sell some units to hold off for a couple turns.Dont forget that winter burrow from the pearls in each city is crucial later game to survive the winter.

In most situations you can sell a couple units and remake them in your most productive city in a turn or two.

Winter is coming...

Also, if you can afford it, station permanent heroes in all your cities, and make a straight line for the skill that eliminates the effects of winter upon cities and armies. Not that you shouldn't be able to afford such a thing late game, as your cities should be quite populous, and glassteel tomes are amazeballs.

Also, remember that Broken Lords, and Cultist heroes make the best governors for economic supply cities. Especially Cultists, as their early skills are extremely good in practically any kind of city, while Broken Lords take a bit of time, and best used in cities with vital/ample strategic wealth or desert climtes.

And of course, Wild Walkers heroes, too, are better goverrnors than generals but only in temperate forests, really, and to get the most out of them you need to have adamantium tomes unlocked, etc.

I need to experiment with the cultist heros. I always use the Dustlords / Wildwalkers / Necrophage heros only usually.
