Mod/code to extend how long a day lasts?

Is it possible to extend how long a day lasts in the game? I'd like to be able to tinker with that, without altering the actual speed of the game. Would allow for getting more done in a day, require multiple meals and relaxation periods, and feel more more realistic.

Maybe focus on how long it takes to get things done, thus getting more done per hour. Giving you the time to take multiple breaks.
