I wish I had a girlfriend, instead I have this game. That is all I have to say.

Bought it for some 10 euros, as far as I remember, when there was a discount.

10 euros is approx. one hour of work for minimum salary in Western Europe.

So the question is, if you really want this game, why can't you spent one hour of your time on some paid job ?

because that one hour of their time may go towards a number of other things. Sorry but the "why not just work" argument is so childish. Do you really think having a job means you get all that money to spend on whatever you want?

It's called budgeting. Sometimes that 10 dollars is better spent elsewhere for a while. If this video game is the only thing a person desires, then yes, your logic would make perfect sense. That's never really the case, there's countless things a person could do with that small bit of money they have available to spend every paycheck, this would just be one of them.

Yes, if your other expenses are minimized. There are jobs that have lodging provided for, jobs that have food provided for too. For example, if you are part of ship's crew, you basically do keep all your salary, since you are housed, fed, dressed etc by your employer. Same goes for military, you live in barracks, eat food provided for, get clothing provided for too etc.
You might argue that there are still taxes, but even those people tend to dodge, sometimes in perfectly legal manner.

That's never really the case
You are simply more optimistic than I am. How old are you, if that's no secret ?

I won't argue optimism though, that's a fine feature to have.

30. Yes if you have a job like that, sure. Not everyone does, not everyone can. You are trying to make the "well just get a better job" argument, as if that's how things actually work. Do you picture a world where the only people who clean bathrooms are the ones that enjoy cleaning bathrooms?

How is it optimistic to say that people tend to desire more than one thing? Did you misread my comment or are you misusing the word "optimistic?"
Yes, people usually desire more than just one 10 dollar steam game.
