Any file not originally in the game, is the file for the file for the update it was added in.
This can be in the actual file structure or the pak01_dir in that file (for sounds they are just in the file). So if you know when something was added to the game (or if it started in the base game), it’s trivial to find. If you don’t know the update, then you have to look through all the possible files
/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/
/Left 4 Dead 2/ left4dead2_dlc1/
/Left 4 Dead 2/ left4dead2_dlc 2/
/Left 4 Dead 2/ left4dead2_dlc 3/
/Left 4 Dead 2/update/
So everything from The Last Stand is in:
/Left 4 Dead 2/update/
Which is the explanation for kurochama's answer. But I'd rather tell you how to find it yourself (and kurochama answered while I was writing this out).
(nevermind, just figured it out, sorry in advance)
