[Slugcat Mod Concept] The Falconer
The Falconer is an intelligent slugcat that has learned unique ways of surviving this harsh landscape. With the aid of her trusty falconfly and sturdy bow, she has carved out a niche in this world as an agile ranged huntress.

~Appearance~

The Falconer's fur is a light grey with a darker patch of grey fur on her stomach and cheeks. Her ears are always turned sideways and her white eyes are always slanted and serious looking. Her body is fluffy and her long tail even more so.

Jasmine the falconfly is similar in appearance to her batfly relatives, but her wings are triple the width of a batfly's and she boasts a single, strong leg and foot for grasping prey. Her large eyes are yellow and have small pupils.

~Abilities & Upsides~

You spawn in with your bow, a weapon that can fire spears at enemies. You're capable of having up to 6 spears on your back and 1 in your other hand. Holding the throw button will put the spear in your bow and slowly charge up your shot over the course of 5 seconds. (can move while charging)
The spears are weaker than if they were thrown but will do more damage the longer they're charged, doing extra spear damage if fully charged. Fully charged shots have a small chance to pierce a lizards thick skull. The bow has a small bit of auto aim so you can shoot a lizard without having to crawl first. If you somehow lose your bow you can respawn with another after hibernation.

Jasmine always rests on top of your head when not active. Press [custom keybind] to deploy Jasmine and press it again to bring her back. When deployed, jasmine will fly above you and wait for a command.
You can tell her to attack a target by either pointing at it or holding down the [custom keybind] button and hovering the falconfly symbol over a target. if the target is blue lizard size or smaller, she will swoop down and pick up the target. She'll attempt to quickly carry it high up before mauling it and dropping them to the ground, stunning it for a moment if it isn't dead.
If the target is too big to pick up, she will spit a sticky projectile at it, slowing the it's movement down significantly for a couple seconds. She may also attempt to distract the target by flying over it and screeching if it's about to get you. Jasmine will attempt to dodge projectiles and things like tongues or spit.
If hit, she will fall to the ground and be knocked out for 5 seconds. She'll remember the previous command and continue fighting if the target isn't dead. Don't worry about her ever dying tho. She can automatically fetch spears and place them on your back if you have free space.
Jasmine has her own food bar next to yours with a total of 6 pips needed and 2 extras. Throw a corpse at her and she will eat some of it. She will also hunt batflies when they're around.

The Falconer is capable of campfire cooking. Use a spear and a cherry bomb together to create a flammable spear that can be lit with a piece of rubbish. Torches provide light, warmth, and can be used to cook, but can't be thrown. They last for 2 minutes (1 minute while exposed to the snow) and sometimes spook enemies when tossed at them. Scavs accept fire for trading.

While holding a corpse, use a spear in your other hand to cut chunks of raw meat off. Amount depends on the creature's size. These can be fed to Jasmine, giving her half a food pip, or you can drop them around a dropped torch to cook them. Raw meat chunks make you pass out for a second. Meat chunks take 10 seconds each to cook and one gives 2 and a half pips.

Getting the chieftain passage and travelling to a toll will result in the scavs teaching you a new trick. (suggestions welcome cause my brain is fried now)

You are a bit faster compared to a normal slugcat, having increase speed, jump height, and pole climbing.

~Downsides~

Batflies give you no food.

You have 8 food pips and 3 extras.

You cannot eat raw meat.

A single bite can and will kill you.

You're not good at throwing spears, causing them to be tossed harmlessly.

Your thick fur makes swimming slightly more difficult.

~Campaign~

You're at the tail end of the timeline, trying to survive the snow and find someone you lost a long time ago.
