Mod that sets a limit on the number of cities each player is allowed?
Does such a mod exist, and if not is it possible?

Bump? Useful to prevent AI from spamming dozens of cities and making the game crash on later eras (when playing with many civs on huge maps)

Not aware of a mod that sets a city limit - But you can set distance between cities high enough so that it limits the number.

This mod comes in a variety from 2 to 7 I believe :Gems:

I'm not sure there is any modable variable that straight up limits the number of cities players can build. "<TargetNumCities>" found in "CIV5Worlds.xml" probably tells AI players how many cities to aim for depending on the size of the map, but it doesn't seem to set a limit and obviously doesn't affect human players.

Happiness is supposed to indirectly limit city spam. You could easily create a mod to make founding a city cost more happiness, but it probably wouldn't be fun to play and could cause AI players to have chronic unhappiness issues.

Yeah. Main point was for AI not for players. On Huge earth mod map AI builds dozens (really, can go up to 20 cities per AI civ... and considering there can be up to 43 civ you can see how hundreds of cities will be created). The result is that the game crash after a while. Easier if it there could be a way to stop AI from going so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wide...
