Also take a black brush and paint around the outside of the safe zone. The importer is really sensitive and if there's just one tiny pixel anywhere, it will flag it.
if you're just loading the model files (i assume that's what you're doing?) they dont have to be anywhere specific. I'm about to fall asleep so i can't rly help rn lol but if you join a workshop discord and ask around *usually* people are down to help. Unfortunately documentation on this stuff is next to non-existent

I also noticed that sometimes the import tool just doesn’t like backpack icons exported from certain programs lol.
Using an icon exported from photopea just won’t work at all. I have no idea why. Gimp and Photoshop work fine tho
