Character Creator 4 - models to SteamVR Hammer?
Tried all ways I could imagine, but I didn't solve to bring a CC4 character into Hammer WITH animation and withOUT making Hammer as slow as we could not work in it anymore.

Has anyone found a way to bring in a CC4 character?

What I tried:
- CC4 -> Blender -> FBX-Export --> Hammer: Mesh was imported but blocks Hammer to slooooooow...

- CC4 -> Game Engine .... and so on and on

Anyone found an applicable way?

You would probably have to import the model directly to the model editor directly instead of Hammer.

Yes, thats true. But I'm still fighting with bone axes and body distortions. Maybe I'll find a way than I publish. The possible quality of Character Creator is outstanding and not to compare with Mixamo/Fuse characters and so on.

Most of the bone issues should be resolvable by exporting both the mesh and animations to DMX instead with Blender Source Tools.

DMX via Source tools didn't work for me (did anything wrong)

Meanwhile I found a practicable way:
- CC4 -> Export as iAvatar (reducing to SteamVR Meshsize)
- iClone8 for Animation
- FBX-Export Mesh and Animation
- Animation In-/Export in Blender (reducing Animation FBX drastically)
- ModelEditor Import -> Material create (as you described in one of your tutorials)
- ModelEditor Add Animation:

Voila!

Thanks again to your hints

Glad you found a working workflow.
