A poorly programmed mod is causing 1 soldier to show up twice. How do I get rid of one of them?

The game seems to see them as 1 entity yet lists them as 2. If I send one on a covert mission both show up as being on covert ops. If I take 1 of them on a missions only 1 comes along but upon returning they have once again identical stats.

Dismissing doesn't work.

Is there a file I can edit somewhere to get rid of this duplicate?
