Selling or Trading
I know nothing about modding, but a questions for those who do:

Would it be difficult to create a mod that lets us sell or trade to the Shop?

I'm on a modded map where there's plants that drop wool, and we amassed a bunch.

We're low on wood and be nice if we could swap.

Probably a complicated thing though.

I'd probably setup the base resources so that you can 'disassemble' them into a single money/coin item, which basically requires you to add the 'money' item as a way to construct it. I don't think this would impact game balance since money objects aren't stored in your inventory so you shouldn't be able to make arbitrary items.
That should be easy enough to do just in the graphical editor, but I'm not sure how to handle the probability of the money being successfully 'disassembled'. It should be possible to change that in the text files since when digging a block you can set a percentage chance of stuff to drop, it might work the same way in the disassembly? Never tried this though.

Okay thanks, yeah it's sounds complicated, to me anyway, and I'm not sure how many players would even want that feature.

But I always thought it would be a neat idea.

I think there's few mods already that give you things that you need without buying or crafting them yourself.

And I'm fine with those.
