Help a new Mod Maker Make Better Mods, Experienced Modder Advice Requested
Hi I just got into modding and am having trouble with a few aspects.
I am very new to sharing mods and have never done so until recently

I need help finding out how to.

1) how to bundle
2) how to stack Vehicle Containers
3) how to raise walls of buildings so I dont just build on base level "I still dont know how to use Roofs"
4) how to get into Modeling / how other modders do it ( I would Like To get into Ship Mods)
5) how to modify Mods With Permission (Some Mods especially ship mods could do with Passenger or Container Varients

If anyone Can Help Me with Some of the More Basic questions (1-3) as (4-5) are advanced
It would Help me to understand how to Improve my mods, and help me help others in the future.

Thanks Ahead
And Sorry If I flooded the workshop in the last few days.

I hope the start mods I made are useful to some

My man thinks that qustion 2 about container stacking is basic. Jokes on you it took day one modders more than 4 months to figure it out and still people making erros and troubleshooting it all the time.

Question one is literally he same way you do it already, but instead of just one building per mod, you do multiple. That's it, literally.

Question 3 I don't even understand what do you mean, could you rephrase?

Question 4 ??? People just learn from other people or figure out their own things. You have to be more specific.

Question 5 you just ask and if original author allows, you make changes and reupload it with proper credits. Lot of times authors willing to make changes based on your question to their own mods so in the end there might be no need to edit and reupload.

Other two question I'd suggest you to literally check vanilla items, answers are under your fingers already.

Thanks Lex

I still Dont Understand how to stack the Containers If it takes a script or something
I have them stacked Visually but they dont seem to stack in game,

as for the last few questions I tryed Modded Items to give me a clue I will try to find the vanilla ones

As You Know I am New to Modding and could Use all the Help I can get

for question one I use the building editor And Still dont know how to bundle together. or add buildings to a bundle pack

3) how to raise walls of buildings so I dont just build on base level "I still dont know how to use Roofs"

Rephrased.

I only Know how to Place walls on ground level, same with roofs, I dont know how to raise them in editor

Leading me to have to use Builder Element Prebuilt buildings Instead of making my own Creations.

And Yes these are basic questions for basicly a new modder

The only thing I can tell you about container stacking inside buildings is go ahead and use building editor. I think using mouse scroll you can change height of visualisation which also gonna end up in stacking.

For levels in building editor there should be a buttons to add/remove floor and I think for going up and down you can use page up and page down buttons (might be R and F) or click on something that is a part of other floor.

thanks Lex, I Used the mouse to stack but for some reason, they would not stack when I played the Game, Maybe It was because I bought All the containers and brought them in by ship.

Ill Try That For Buildings, There are so many Elements in editor that I could not use,
Thanks

Continuing on what equinox_nova said on your latest item, it would be good to test your mods first before you make it Public. You're making new models from Building Editor, right? You can check other existing mods made from that Editor before you release your own pack. You need to check the file structure of the mods before you publish them.

Now that you have 60+ of them, I think this would be a perfect time to review them all at once.

You certainly have good mod ideas, but you shouldn't rush on publishing one building after another in quick succession. I wish you luck in maintaining that mod list.

I am doing that just now, I am trying t Bundle them so I dont Flood the workshop,
I feel really bad, I am trying to fix it
I thought all the mods worked but it may because I need stuff in a subfolder.

I swear I tested all the mods just did not download test them.

Thanks for the feedback,
