50km is the limit for vanilla antenna range.

Vanilla _laser_ antenna has unlimited range if enough power is provided, but then you can't let anything get in the way of the laser antenna. I've done remote control at 5000 km.

Edit: You could set up antennas along the way. Set an antenna at 25km from you so your effective range is 75km (25km + 50km)

AI Drones don't have limit, for example a AI Drone will return home from everywhere in the world when properly setup to do so.

BUT, like ShadedMJ said, control a Drone from Remote control block need to stay inside the station antenna range to control it from that station.

Also, the suit antenna range is very very short and best to control a ship from station antenna relays.

It also depends if youre playing single or on multiplay servers. The latter do have settings like concealment to proper handle resources. I assume youre on singleplayer, where there isnt such a limitation
