I had a random thought, if it is possible to mod/create this as an idea, you could probably have eras where over time you can advance and allow for more development. Transportation, buildings, steam power, electrics and more. I'm not that versed in creating stuff but wish I was so I'm slapping this out there as I'm sure someones thought of this but not mentioned it (or have and I'm blind)
