Maybe someone can help me
so noticed you cant update a mod anymore like you use to be able to aka goto the mod files and change the version number so it works with current build what happened

You can, i did this recently. But that is for my maps, unsure about other maps that you dont own.

i mean its just so i can use the mod if a new version of a mod comes out i tend to check first but some mods have not been updated by their devs so i tend to do it myself by simply changing the version number

Some big mods need a rewrite of code due to size and nature of vanilla file update. Simple mods will allow a version change in the mod.info file.
