I know I personally wish we had more physics interaction tools beyond the hinge and spring joints, because hoo boy they are not easy to use in any practical way, especially since they can't be bagged.
The amount of times I wish I could just take the Garrys Mod slider tool between two things to lock their axis together, and the fact you just can't is a pain.
I tried to mess with scripting zones to tell them to do things to objects inside them, but I also then get constant 'access errors', simply put the game is old and jank as hell.
If it was an actual possibility for a re-creation of the engine/game, i'd buy it again, assuming these kinds of problems were fixed and the physics engine was more accessible.
As it stands anything you play might as well be 2d, and the 3d is just for visual effect unless you go to absurd levels of obfuscation to force things to 'appear' to work the way you want them too, or unless you simply want to have a bunch of objects spaz out.
