looking for sounds from Turrets
hey, i know its pretty common that everyone wants the cute little Turret audiolines, but NO IM NOT LOOKING FOR THOSE!!!! im looking for the sounds the turrets made, like when they open their side pannels and closing them, i tried recording them but as soon as they open at the same time the cute audiolines from them are played and i am looking for just the shooting sound the turrets make and the sound they make when scanning (the ding, ding, ding,) and when they open or close their side pannels thats just i think 3 or 4 audios/vfx audios (still not looking for the audio lines, they are everywhere to find) please, i know its 2024 and the game community is like dead but i still hope someone knows / has these audios or can send me them...

The game's definitely not dead. It's probably easiest to tell you how to find the sounds. First you'll need a program that can read VPK files - there's the older GCFscape, but VPKEdit[github.com] is newer and better for a number of reasons. Once you have either, just open up "Portal 2/portal2/pak01_dir.vpk", and you'll see all the main game's resources. The sounds you want are in "sound/npc/turret_floor", but the other two turret folders have more. Also FYI there's also a VPK in portal2_dlc1 and 2, those correspond to the new things added for Art Therapy and the map editor respectively.

thank you so so so much, cuz i was looking thru portal 1 and couldnt find the sounds for the turret so i installed portal 2 and thanks to you i finally found the audios thank you very much
