Reload speed
I noticed that some weapons have a way longer reload speed than their tooltip (especially the torpedo launcher in RE1 that claims to have a reload time of 2 seconds but takes forever) and tried to find their reload speed in the files, but only found the stat "ReloadDelay". Editing that stat makes reloading go completly haywire. Were is the reload speed stat in the game data?

Edit: It IS the ReloadDelay stat. I successfully edited the torpedo launcher, that for some reason had 2 entries in the item config file, one with 2 second reload and one with 30 seconds. So the real reload speed of that weapon was 30, not 2. I managed to edit another weapon without problem, but I cant find the SV homing missile launcher. It claims to have 8 seconds reload but I counted 12 seconds. Editing its entry with 8 seconds does nothing.

The reload speed is accurate. The rate of fire is the restricting value. That delay is so that you can reload and then change to other weapons while the torpedo launcher cools down, because you're not meant to fire a nuclear weapons in rapid succession.

So I am not crazy and the weapon reloads while not being activly selected? Because I am pretty sure vanilla weapons have to be activly selected to complete the reload.

I do not want to rebalance the weapon, I just wanted to play around with the files to understand how stuff works like for example exactly that.

When a weapon is reloading and you change to another weapon, it cancels the reload no matter how much time is left on it (which is dumb).
However, the torpedoes have a really slow rate of fire which isn't cancelled when switching weapons. So you get the normal, non-invasive reload and then have to wait for the the delay between shots (which you can switch to other weapons during the cooldown phase).
This only works on weapons with a single-shot magazine, otherwise you'll just have a really slow gun.

So this is how this works. Very interesting, thanks! So that is the strange behavior I saw. The weapon wasnt trying to reload, it was waiting for the next shot. Also how the weapon trapped me in my driver seat while not being selected.
