As a "god" you haven't been looking hard enough...
Dig up Clay and you'll also get more Flint than you could possibly ever need ;)
You may select 'All stones' to your search parameter already.
However, the presence of Flint on the surface is quite rare.
As I said, if you truly require "easy to find" large quantities of Flint, then you have to dig for it. Or more specifically, dig for Clay and you will find plenty of Flint too.
For example,

That's at least 2,000 Flint and no mods required ;)
Oh and BTW, why are you searching for surface branches?
Plant trees and harvest branches from them. It's far more productive.
I noticed in another post you made about using branches for fuel. Why? Birch trees are decorative, but are not a great source of lumber or fuel. You need logs for both construction and fuel since logs are a better fuel source. Try to find some Aspen or better yet, Pines.
It's called "quality of life", little things that make your life easier.
Obviously not everyone is treating this game as a machine that needs to run efficiently to the nth decimal, nor may they want to.
Hmm... okay, let's test that...
For the sake of argument, let us suppose that surface searches for Flint would be included when selecting small stones. When searching an area of, let's say, 1000m² (that's 20 x 50m² searches), how many Flint do you think would be found for that amount of search and collection work?
I would estimate between 0-20 units.
That's an extremely poor return and makes your life as the player and your Sap's lives harder.
Alternatively, excavate Clay from a 50m² area and gain 80+ Flint and plenty of the Clay that you also need.

That's QOL right there as you get both Clay and Flint easily ;)
NB. More importantly though, I would suggest that you should never remove surface Clay or Flint. That is because they are important clues what lies below ground, and should be used as such.
I sincerely hope that if such a suggestion made by the OP were to come to pass, that searching however many thousands of m² of surface area to net the same amount of Flint that can be obtained from excavating 50m² of Clay will make your life feel easier ;)
I wish you both success with that.
I see your point
