use custom road assets instead; if you want completely blank roads, there are these:

there are more of course, search around the keywork "IMT", "Blank"...
you dont have to subscribe to all of them obviously, just pick and choose which type you need
thanks for the help
Then you can use IntersectionMarkingTool (IMT) to create the markings within the lanes you want and have IMT assign those markings to that specific asset so when you use that NEW ROAD ASSET it will always lay down with the IMT markings rendered. I believe you can do this while still in the road editor,,, but even if not, it will work with your new road, REMEMBERING TO RENAME IT of course, while in game.
After you setup just one segment of the road, use IMT, don't just save as template. You can assign it to that specific road asset you created and it will always automatically lay the lines/markings down when you use it.
JUST REMEMBER that they are rendered as decals/props I believe. So they might add to prop count if you use them alot. Roads are the real FPS killer in CS. All the citizen and vehicle traffic calculations are done through the number of roads and the more roads you have, the more calculations it does. Even beyond mods in many cases, vast road systems kill performance in this game. Adding props to them probably doesn't help.
I've played on the same map I made for about 2-3 years now, tweaking and shaping it... Barely. It's an almost completely flat map where the main 25 tiles I use, is 100% flat and is mostly land with shore all around it.. Based on THE GREAT PLAN map by Mulleboy
I used to play normal with just the highway infrastructure in place and had a basic setup of progression for the whole game I kept replication.
In the beginning of the game as I layed out streets, my pc would use about 10.5 - 11 gb of ram.
As I got further into the game, by the time I unlocked airports and had populations over 60k, it would rise to about 12.9 gb of ram.
Then I decided to create the 2 cities and 3 small areas I always built in almost exact detail, as part of the base map for the begging of the game to save time and aggravation on pc potato...
Instead of starting at about 11 gb, the game, without playing it for even a second would start at about 12.5 gb with ZERO population... By the time I reached the airports unlock with similar populations, it would still only rise to about 12.9 gb as before.
That means the road layouts alone were responsible for about 75% - 90% of the ram usage without even playing a seconds worth of gaming.
That was a heck of an eye opener that might be useful to alot of people.
