Need help with building a treehouse
Hey there! I've been getting into building more of my own custom structures in Planet Zoo, and I've been trying in particular to build more animal shelters, but I'm currently at my wit's end with a treehouse.

It's specifically a treehouse intended for a mountain lion, and is built primarily of the log wall items. The issue I'm running into is that I Cannot get these mountain lions to figure out that the treehouse has a floor when it's suspended in any way.

I feel like I've tried everything, honestly. I've tried adjusting the orientation of the walkable log, and different sizes and shapes for an entrance platform. I've tried different materials for the floor of the treehouse-- log floor pieces, climbable pieces, individual logs, slabs of stone. The most I've been able to do is to get the mountain lions to walk Through the treehouse on a log suspended over the floor, but they won't jump or climb down from it at all to go on the actual floor of the house.

I've even tried removing Anything in the area that could impede their movement, including ripping the entire roof off (since I wondered if their jump animation was too high to go from the entrance to the interior), but I've still had absolutely no success.

The only times that the structure counts as having a floor to them is if I take the entireee structure and sink it into the ground.

I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. The interactions that climbing pieces have next to flat, walkable pieces seems Really clunky and frustrating to navigate.

Is there any trick to help this? A specific way I need to orient thing for these cats to figure out the floor is not, in fact, lava?

Have you put bedding down for them? I have not worked with mountain lions but since you state you have tried everything and they want the floor to be on terrain, you could try the water trick to do a paper thin terrain in the air and build on that. Just a thought.

This might not be the most elegant solution, but have you tried placing actual floor pieces, then disguising them so the wooden platforms sit on top of them? You can place the logs a few pixels above, blended in so the floor pieces are camouflaged and the animals appear to be walking on the log floor.

I find the animal pathing/behavior to be often counter-intuitive and it's often maddening to get the animals to use a specific item or go to a specific area, so my view is that if the piece looks good and it adds to the quality of the habitat, I'm not too worried about whether they use the entire piece or how often they use it. It's just too much of a hassle.
I suspect the issue lies in the platform pieces blocking the climb routes on the trees. Thus, you likely need to create an alternate route for the lions to access the platforms. Could be any object tagged as climbable for lions.

Note that not all items tagged as climbable can be accessed by all animals! While in the traversable heatmap check for green lines on objects that should be climbable. Even the trees will have these as the denote the climbing route for the selected animal.

Sorry for the late reply, I don't check the workshop forum often...
Can you post a screenshot? I've also got a jaguar treehouse that I built awhile ago that I can upload to the workshop that might work. Or if you want something specific and have a picture of the concept I can create something probably.

It may also be a space issue with the cats since they require so much space to make something traversable ground. Even moreso if you want actions like laying down available since walking uses less space then interactions apparently.
