The center of Hong Kong is built around Victoria Harbour. As the city grow rapidly after WW2, traffic on the water was getting busier and ferries could not handle all the passengers. The British Hong Kong government at the time would like to have a road connection between HK Island and Kowloon Peninsula. Therefore, the Cross-Harbour Tunnel was built and opened to public in 1972.

/// The Red Blinds
Cross-Harbour bus routes were introduced and have a very high demand. To make them easier to identify and visible in distance, these routes would have a Red Blind. The Red Blinds passed on to bus routes using the 2nd (1986 Eastern Harbour Crossing) and 3nd (1997 Western Harbour Crossing) Tunnel.
However, with the arrival of flipdot and LED display, and older buses with Plastic Board/Roller Blind display retiring, these Red Blinds are rarely seen these days. As the last bus, a Dennis Trident with Plastic Board phased out in mid-2018.

/// We've bring it back!
As you all know, we are creating lots of classics. We’ve been finding a way to re-create the Red Blinds. We want it automatically turns to Red Blind when the player deploys the bus on a cross harbour route. After a massive investment of time and effort, we’ve managed to use the half/full width character system to make it happen!

/// Simple Guild to use our HK Blind System
Our HK Blind System consist of number (0-9) and (A-Z)
You’ll have a normal Black Blind using half-width character.
You’ll have a Red Blind for full-width character input. The destination also changes to Red.
