Unofficial Attila Community Patch mod is a compilation of small fixes that aim to have compatibility with most overhaul mods (for example: mods that create new campaigns, factions, units and mods that modify religion or family tree for starting factions).
Athanasios' Attila Ultimate Fixes mod seems like it's a compilation of fixes meant to refine vanilla campaign from the state it has been left in by CA. The biggest downside to his mod is that it makes changes in startpos.esf, making it incompatible with most overhaul mods.
So it really depends on what mods you are running, if any. I'd go with Athanasios' mod if I was to play vanilla. But in case of mods that completely overhaul the game (such as Medieval 1212 AD) I wouldn't run any of the fixes.
