You can update your maps whithout conversion, just open the map with the editor, modify it and publish it again, when you finish testing it gives you an option to update existing map, choose it from the list and it will update. Sometimes it´s a bit wonky but it works at the end.
This reminds me that when I have some time I have to go thorugh all my maps and tweak them for the new art and backgrounds.
Cheers!
Well the problem is, I had uninstalled the game without even thinking about the map files.
Once I reinstalled after the offical release was when I realized everything was gone.
It could be our little secret.
Cheers!
Yeah I came back after the official release with intentions to bring the first 7 maps up to date, and add maybe 3 more, but I guess that's not happening. It'd be nice if a dev could at least respond with some sort of work around, or even a "nope sorry can't do it."
Source engine has had things like V-MEX, BSPSource, BSP2MAP, etc to convert their .bsp map files into .vmf files that can be opened in their Hammer World Editor, and if anything it allows newer mappers the ability to decompile maps and really get inside to see just how some things are done. I know the Broforce map editor is nowhere near as complex as Hammer, but I personally think we would only benefit from having a more open source and some form of decompiling tools.
Exactly. It's not like we are making money off of our maps or anything. It's all in fun.
But yeah, unfortunately, there's no real way to convert to .bfg from .bfc except for an extremely hacked thing that I do. If you're going to lose a level that you really, really spent a lot of time on and it's the best level ever and you'll cry if you lose it I can reconvert it for you. I think something broke in our steamcloud saves, I'll look into that.
Well, it's Bropocalypse 1-7, which are all 5 stars with collectively 11,000+ ratings.

I'm not going to "cry", but like @Ankon said.
