Anyone else no longer able to run mods?
my starbound either crashes or pretends they don't exist, even running just a single random mod. Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the problem.

What says your log? Try to check files with Steam.

Already tried verifying files through steam, everything checked out as okay. Here's the log;

Do you run the game with Steam shortcut? Atm its says you are running without Steam, so every mod that isn't in \Starbount\mods is ignored.

I run it through the steam library itself.

I'm having a similar problem, though I don't know if it's a problem specifically with mods, as I'm subscribed to enough that I don't feel like un-subscribing from them all just to find out if that's indeed the issue. XD
Oddly it hadn't occurred to me to verify my files, because that’s usually the first thing I do. I'll try that and then try running the game. If it still crashes on startup before getting to the main menu, I'll post the log file here.

Okay, I verified my files and then tried running the game again, only for it to crash on startup like it has been for the past little while. I went to grab to log file to share it here, but I decided to take a quick look at it first. I found out that a mod I have installed was updated and now has a dependency that I was missing. The mod in question is nuggubs’ Mega Mod, and the mod it now requires (which is both mentioned and linked to on the mod page itself) is nuggubs’ Mega Mod – Vanilla Tweaks.

I’m not sure that this is the cause of this problem for everyone here, but it’s what turned out to be the problem for me, so I thought I’d share it here just in case it could help someone else. Also, consider going through your log file yourself. The problem may be more simple and easy to spot than you think.

Good luck to everyone experiencing issues with the game! :SBpenguin:

I found out this was the cause for my crashes too. Thanks for posting this!

Nice for you but Tokiko log have no errors at all and no mod loaded at all.

  • First try restarting Steam (I guess it have been done since now) in case of client bug.
  • Check if you arent on beta branch, its a trick used to have two different modpack.
  • https://steamstat.us/ is showing Vienna and Seoul having problem so if you are on those area Steam might have issues. You may asked to people living around you if they have the same.
  • Ferify your game files, some may be corrupted.
  • A workaround would be to move your mods to the mods folder, but that mean they won't be synch with the Workshop.
  • Unsubscribe to your mods and subscribe again later. Make a collection it will be easier.

no mine runs fine but some of the worlds or space encounters when i visit them just beams me back to my ship

@TheSilentAngryCat That sounds like a mod issue. My issue is that it just doesn't load mods at all, from any source. Rebooting steam seems to be a temporary fix for it at least.

Would it by chance, be possible for us to view what mods you are running?
