In vanilla, the relic order is generated in advance. Unless I was misinformed, shops pull from the end of this list and you can't find those relics again even if you don't look at the shop.

It doesn't matter if you fight the left path elite on floor 7 or the right path elite on floor 8. It's the same elite holding the same relic. If you avoid elites until the midway chest, that very same relic will be in the chest.

The timing of pathing into events can seemingly change the relic order but I forgot how exactly. This only matters for replaying seeds anyway.

Now, there used to be a mod which puts different relics on different paths and shows you which is where, but I can't find it anymore.

Ah, that would be perfect. My biggest issue with the game at the moment is that you can't pursue a specific relic to synergize with your build. It would provide a lot more opportunity for strategy if we could do more than just plow through elites and pray.

I have a mod which adds the effect as a relic, but can't remember what mod it is, name of the relic is "treasure map" i believe

You can use loadout to give yourself conspire's treasure map.
