Love this question. Too bad no answer...

I think its due to the way modding of this game currently is, it a year old and not one total conversion. Its time consuming, no offical tools for modding, no offical modding guide and ofc there is the limitations which you have to find out all on your own as there is no "help" from SD on this atm. And lastly, no Workshop support for mods, although this is been looked at by the devs, It used to be on the Road Map but has been removed which leads me to think they are havign issues implemnting this atm.

Saying all that I am in the process of doing a Star Trek Conversion, I know its not Star Wars, get more versitility from the Trek universe :)

A Star Wars total conversion is on its way, and it will have more than 25 new factions.

I've actually stopped buying Stardock products out of frustration on this point. What is the point of creating all these custom factions if they all use the same generic ship designs? I pre-ordered this game. They promised full workshop-ready mod support then. Instead I can make custom ships manually, but still can't download full ship sets that the AI will use from the workshop. Full Mod support was more important than all this crappy DLC.
