How do I Add Tags to Workshop Items?

Everything I find says I need to write some super-complex code. Is that the only way or am I just stupid?

when you upload the vehicle you see a screen where you select the tags

I uploaded a mod though, not a vehicle. How do I add tags on a mod upload?

you cant there is just the mod tag that you get by default
