I walk through walls :(
Hello,

I created and published an escape game. When I wanted to test it, big problem: I cross all the walls, even if they are checked as obstacles. How to fix this problem ? I spent a lot of time on it and I'm disappointed not to be able to share it with you. Thank you !

We like to place saftey obstacle blocks to ensure people don't slip through walls they aren't supposed to.

Thank you for your answer :)
I secured my walls with obstacle blocks. But I can go through them, so through doors and even the entire map, as if I was still in editor mode. I deleted my escape game from the workshop while waiting for a solution

Make the obstacles thicker, and on on the ground.

Thanks but it's already done :( I don't understand where the problem comes from

I published and tested again. It's better today. I don't cross walls every time, only if I insist a little. And I go through doors half the time... Could it be that my escape game is big and my PC is old? Players with more powerful PCs may not have this problem? These are just guesses. Does anyone have another suggestion to help me ? Thanks :)

It may play some factor. If the collision detection happens on a larger step, it is possible to slip through the cracks. And set obstacle blocks near the floor where we know it is likely a person may try slipping through.

The most common tactic is running forward at a shallow incident angle and pushing d or s when nearing the door.

We usually set the walls inside obstacle blocks, and this is effective at preventing slipping through.

Another trick you need to think about is too add obstacles to block the inside of closed cabinets and drawers as sometimes this happens. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/898938872740859935/936770566751395860/unknown.png

Adding an obstacle block on the inside of the drawer prevents the users cursor from highlighting and grabbing objects inside the container.

Also, keep in mind that obstacles do not work when moving to prevent users from getting trapped inside of them. So if you have any ideas on pushing people, it is better done with teleporting.

Take a look here how Cico habitually blocks off sections to make it significantly harder to go through.

Hi Mac :) Thank you for your reply !

Great, that's good news ! Maybe I should wait for the update to publish my room. Is there a date for the newest update? And congratulations on your game, it's really great :)
