YAML with Mod options in Workshop

YAML is amazing when it's working. It doesn't work quite correctly without bobberts mod options. The only mod available like this through workshop is synergy and borks the game on load. Do I need to completely punt workshop and do everything through vortex? Or is there some other fix that doesn't involve me re-doing all my mods?
