I cant see any obvious downsides really.
In the end, if you want higher camera above your map, just placing a single block somewhere above where it cant be seen should do the same job as "normal" cam.
You might be able to use the tool from my guide to decompress your wip levels and edit the c amera type by hand (maybe its actually correct, but just wrongfully shown in the ui anyway)
Also the files are minor, how does it matter?
Delete button or simply going to your games directory (right lcikc in steam library - local data - show local... something)
