at some point, such expansions sould become dlcs imo, such as one that gives access to advanced workshop contents
There are no tools, or code to support mods..
How would you propose creating a gun mod and integrating it into the game? [Without months of coding, management, play testing and moderating]
The crosshair mod was a testbed for players and it failed because the time to moderate, quality control, costs of coding, etc was larger than expected
Very few players made useable mods, and the budget to integrate was 10x higher than expected,resulting in basically zero profit.
So mods are a loss leader....
Nope, thats not how workshop works. Its a separate folder, but you would have to replace a lot of files too. And all the specs should match .... so how would you create a new file with matching specs?
Its more complicated than trying to hack 1 file to work offline, its not professional and completely different than making a mod that would replace the texture of a fun for all game modes
Some items have as many as 5 textures that need to be replaced.....lighting, rgb, specular, reflection.....shadow, etc....if its not done right its just gonna look like garbage.
