<SOLVED> Killing Floor saving EVERYTHING???
When I exit the game, I know that it syncs everything with the server and to another backup location on the local HDD, but why does it copy every single thing in the game to the cloud? Any time I download the game it downloads all of the mod files that were placed in the file structure in addition to the game and then proceeds to download what mods it can from the workshop, screwing up virtually everything; most of the mods don't work, including anything that is a major system overhaul like ServerPerks or ScrN. This makes the entire game worthless since I would have to go through every single folder and manually delete anything that is not native and then fool the Cloud to update itself using the new file structure. And yes, I've tried the popular method of deleting and updating the Cloud files using the AppID, but the only folder that corresponds to the game is 'ugc'; I have also unsubbed from all of my mods to prevent any downloading and it has not changed anything.

My question is: is there any way to force the Steam server to disregard the Cloud files and download the native game instead of what you have synced? If there is no way around this, then the game is worthless despite it being a digital copy :p The answer probably is staring me in the face, but I'm at a loss.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hmm... I have never heard that the syncing also covers mods. Have you subscribed to the mods you mentioned in the Workshop, because this indeed triggers redownloading when you remove them. Unsubscribing from said mods and reinstalling (deleting system folder is enough to deactivate all mods, but it keeps some data fragments like textures/meshes/sounds...).

Yeah, I figured out the problem. As I thought, the solution was right in front of my face. You have to unsubscribe and favorite your current KF modlist and then disable Cloud. Delete the game from your comp and then re-download the game and then enable the Cloud. From there, just re-download a few mods at a time until everything works.
