Multiplayer Mod?

So I was wondering if there might be a chance for a multiplayer mod to be developed?

Basically the way it would work is that each player gets to control a member of the party, so essentially at most you'd have 4 players in a group. The host gets to make most of the other decisions.

I think it would be really neat to play with friends in this way and add a bit more to the game as a mod.

Monster's Choice Mod - "Meant to be played with friends choosing the targets for the monsters." , it's not online but that's the only mod that gets the closest to what you're looking for.
