Unless your mod contains scenes/actions that would be deamed inapropriate I don't think anyone would mind. I assume you have no intention to idolize the SS with this mod and it's merely a reskin of the game.
However given that there are maps that are Indiana Jones theme'd (kill the nazis) seems it's ok to have German Millitary types in Steam workshop...
thanks for the advice guys. i apreciate the prompt replies
also, for the record, you guys made a very great game. congratz on a job well done!
also, sorry for typos, i was up all night, ironicly, finishing the thing. to be honest, i m probably gonna scrap it. it looks like it went from a simple ranks and insigna thing to going to far to annoy my brother. i hate to admit it, but the thing now looks kinda extreme. i wanted total conversion and ranks, not ss propaganda (for lack of a better term). if you want screenshots of the thing, i can send them your way. im impressed with what i acomplished using coding and free software on the web (none of it pirated), but i hate how it turned out.
i am now proud to call myself a "script kiddie", despite what people consider the term. its a step up from knowing nothing about this thing.
Also you can add new 3d models as sprites in the game fairly easy using Blender (free software) but it is a bit time consuming. If you can make your own models all the better but you can also find a ton of free textured models or models ripped from other games which you can easily import into Blender, rigg and animate them (much easier than it sounds), record the animation in frames and make the animations images for the game. That is a couple of days worth of learning from tutorial videos but it would allow you to take Total Conversions to a whole new level. I made this topic a while ago and if you ever want to know more about how it's done we can talk more there.
Thanks! The mod expanded quite a lot since then but it will take a bit more time until it's ready for the big reveal. Luckly I just finished with the exams a week ago and now I have a lot of free time to work on the mod.
A healthy amount of competition between siblings is always a good thing. Knowing that there's always somebody just next door ready to put you to shame is a good insentive to always better yourself.
here is finished mod. a little rough, but i cleaned it so it will not offend...i hope. vulpe, if you want me to pull the plug on it, lemme know.
