Copy & Paste

Every time i try to copy and paste a guy in the editor it either...
1. Does copy the guy but will not paste him. It says "Copy clipboard1" - then "Paste clipboard 0"
2. Gives me an error and exits from the editor.

I can't recreate this.

Do you have any mods installed?

What editor are you in when this happens (F1, F2, F3)

What guy from what folder? (One example)

I find it works OK for copy pasting 1 unit but more than 1 unit this bug is likely to happen.

My Assault Squad 2 editor does not have this problem.

Not experiencing this personally, and it is where I spend all my time. Can you provide answers to my questions so I can test?

MODs ALL OFF - I deleted the editor_desktop, keys, options and settings files so game would create fresh new ones to be sure.

In F3 can only copy & paste 1 unit.
In F2 in test was able to copy & paste 6 barrels, but is not reliable and is likely to crash.
Went back to F3 to test again, could only still copy & paste 1 unit.

I tested on a multi map - radar + a singleplayer mission map on Deluxe version.

Guys I just tested this and it is not happening for me - all is working as it should... new maps, radar map, etc.

I'm willing to make a vid if you think it would help anything.

This issue should be escalated.

The only other thing I can offer is I have never loaded a single mod, if you have maybe a reinstall is worth the effort? Not sure.

One of the latest updates must have messed up the editor. I just tried doing this after not using the editor for 2-3 days and I have the same problem even though everything worked perfectly before.

Really?

I just tried from another computer that has a separate install of the editor. All good there as well.

Are we sure it couldnt be a remnant of a mod messing things up for you? I have the latest updates but have never loaded a mod.

I have just installed CTA Deluxe version on another computer
and the same exact copy & paste bug is happening as
my home gaming computer which is Windows 7.
This other computer is Windows 8.

This is happening with human units. With a civilian car copy and paste 3 cars works.

Assault Squad 2 on this other computer
does not have this copy & paste bug.

Well that was the key - when you said HUMAN units - I was only trying objects.

I can copy paste 1 human, 2 humans or 3 humans at a time. Anything over that is a fail. (Can you guys confirm similar?)

To be honest I am not sure I have ever tried copying and pasting more than 1 or 2 humans in the editor yet - so I cant confirm if this has been since launch or not.

Either way - yuck.

So what do we do from here?

i am using a squad of 6 navy seals on the first single player map. i have copied and pasted a much larger group than that in this editor before. it only happens to me when i modify the soldier in anyway ie: giving him a different gun
