Some game and editor questions
Is it possible to do any of the following:

1. Increase the height of the players viewpoint. When I first played Duke Nukem 3D back in caveman times I genuinely thought Duke Nukem was a midget because the scaling of the game is so poor. Duke's point of view is too close to the ground giving the impression he is short so I was wondering if it's possible to hack this somehow.

2. In the Build editor is it possible to change the height of sectors and sprites in smaller increments? I find it hard to line things up when they move up and down in large increments.

3. I'm playing the game on a 2560x1440 monitor and the highest resolution I can get from the classic version of the game. This has the effect of making everything super fat and squashed. Is there any way to get widescreen support?

4. In both Classic and Megaton I've got sound problems. Some sounds don't play or get cut off or distorted, sometimes speeding up or slowing down. Any way to fix this in the DosBox settings or is it done through the games settings?

5. Likewise with the sound I get graphics issues mostly in classic mode where some sprites flash in and out of visability, espcially Duke's gun. I don't remember this being a problem in the old days of playing so I guess it's just a modern PC problem.

6. Playing classic version or using the Build editor causes my CPU cooler to speed up quite a lot, I assume then that the game and editor are using the CPU to run the graphics and ingoring my graphics card? Any way to share the load? All old games, espcially DOS games use the CPU to handle graphics right?

7. In the Megaton version cameras seem to be pointing upwards for some strange reason, why?

Nope. I'm using Mapster32 instead.

what does the standard game editor use that is shipped with megaton? dosbox?

Yes it uses DosBox but it's full of bugs and doesn't work properly which is why I'm using Mapster32 (renamed to "Build" so the game knows what it is). Anyway this off topic.

Pretty sure megaton's editor is a version of JFBuild (meaning it runs on windows), but mapster32 is way better.
Changing the viewpoint is bad because all the maps are designed with that view in mind.
To edit heights in smaller increments, try holding the home or end keys when changing the height. Either that or hold down alt(?) and drag up and down with the mouse (but I'm a bit rusty on that).

Oh, wow. Thanks Micky C. After fifteen years I can finally move sectors up and down in smaller increments! This is a revalation. End+PGUP/DN moves secotors up and down in small increments and Home+PGUP/DN moves them in even smaller increments. Well, this means I have to redisgn the updating of my old maps.

no wonder why the editor doesn't open up on a mac.. it isn't the dos version.
might give it a go running the editor through a windows emulator.

is there any way to bind keys like end and pg up to other keys in the editor? don't have those keys on my short keyboard.
