Steam Workshop: Where do I start?
Hi everybody.

Welcome to the new RPG Maker VX Ace Workshop. Here we can share and play games and resources that we have made, and see the multitude of cool stuff that other people have made.

Now, I'm sure a lot of you are experts here on using Steam, but I know I sure wasn't. Steam Workshop can be a bit overwhelming at first. Luckily, we have a nice How-To and FAQ on what Steam Workshop is, and how to use it. You can find that HERE. We will be updating this daily!

I hope to see all your brilliant creations in our Workshop soon!

Have a question that isn't answered? Ask here and we'll try to get to it as soon as possible.

Will we be able to specify a location other than our Documents folder in the future?
My OS partition is very small compared to my storage partition and I would much prefer working on my storage partition than on my OS partition.

Simply moving my current project to User documents would entail giving up about 35% of my total free space on the drive, which was meant to be reserved for the OS' cache/swapping.

Is this only limited to the steam version of VX Ace?
N_A_Palm 25 Feb, 2014 @ 1:26pm
@Seacliff, If you purchased VX Ace through us directly, you can contact support through our website ( http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/support/contact-us/sales ) and supply your existing activation key. We will provide a Steam key for you to use.

Will there be any quality control on the resources and game provided by users? Should we refrain from posting incomplete games or WIPs? What are the limitations of a workshop compared to a blog or the main rpg maker web site?

What are the standards for inclusion?
We will be posting a more comprehensive guideline as soon as possible, but in general, the Treasury is quite inclusive. Games should be at least 15 minutes before they are posted to Workshop, and clear effort should be made. Inappropriate games/resources and copyright violations are not allowed in any way, shape, or form. All games should be PG-13 or as close as possible; this means no pornographic content, and extreme violence should be treated with discretion.

If something hasn't been responded to, it is because we are going to take the time to formulate an answer. Don't take a skipped question as a nonanswer.

This may not be feasible but we will be sure to look into it! For stability reasons, at this time it's not really recommended to change the file destination.

There is some confusion, and it would be nice to get some official answer & clarification, if DLCs, that are legitimately bought & owned by a User, if they are allowed to be used in a game that could be uploaded to the Workshop if the "Play Only" option is set for that project before uploading.

There are already a couple of current threads on the matter:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/discussions/-1/558749190584119980/?appid=220700

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/220700/discussions/0/558749190580907560/

But it is still confusing and unclear of if DLCs can be used or not with games for the workshop.
Thanks.

*Update: According to the following post: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/220700/discussions/0/558749190580907560/?tscn=1393574728#c558749190742934673 , we are allowed to use DLCs in projects to be uploaded to the Workshop as long as it's set as Play Only.

Only question i have is where are the Subscribed things located after i download them?
Deckiller 5 28 Feb, 2014 @ 8:57am
Yes, you can indeed use DLC in products as long as you set it to Play Only.

To find your subscriptions, open VX Ace and click on File > Manage Projects. You'll then see a list of your downloaded items :)
