This game is incredible, but the interface and tools could use a fair amount of work. I really hope Bay12 is working on this stuff for the next year.
Copy/paste would be really nice. Also the driftwood, I have tons at my volcano's beach.
Even just a copy stockpile option would be fantastic. Or able to place part of a stockpile on different floors. same with gather areas. Why do I need to make a new one for each floor, I should be able to marquee the area on multiple levels for any location/stockpile.
I think it'd work just as well if they made the world grid outline simply slightly bolder or vary in color/value on every fifth line much like any other grid/illustration program employs. It makes it just as easy to know how many blocks you've marque'd/selected/or designated. It's basically just a larger grid overlay over the smaller one. May be easier to deploy too, but really either way is a marked improvement. I find myself counting squares a lot. lol. It's a bit monotonous.
Everything about maintaining menus would be awesome too, having the location you are scrolled to reset constantly is a huge bother, especially in a list with over a hundred dwarves.
Guess I could learn shortcuts for #1, but #2 I feel should be in the core game.
I assume they are not as simple to implement as they sound.
