unable to find the level editor

so I have it installed but when I try finding it in game I just cannot see it anywhere, its not in the custom songs area, its not in the extras, and I can't directly boot up the editor either.
Any idea what I can do to find the editor?

Hi there! You can find the editor in Steam from the Tools section of your library, and you can find it in-game in the Custom Music menu (there is a link to the Workshop as well as a link to open the editor from in-game).

my problem is that those things you just listed aren't working, I am not given an option to boot up the editor despite it being installed.
