I and a buddy of mine want to play through the game together with a HEAVY amount of mods in the same vain as Cursed Halo.

With the 20th anniversary release, I was under the assumption that this would be something we could easily setup with the workshop. I have now found this is not the case.

While the Synergy mod is regarded as the best method to play Half Life 2 with multiplayer, I have found the mod's workshop page lacking in the desired selection of mods found in the vanilla game's workshop.

1. Is there a stable way to host modded multiplayer on vanilla HL2? I know you can use the dev console to make a server but it's too unstable on its own.

2. A way to import the vanilla game mods to Synergy?
   

And no, neither of us own Garry's Mod and are not planning on downloading it for this playthrough.
