Will calamity summoner be viable eventually?

My favorite class is summoner, and I just feel like in calamity it's consistently weaker than other classes, and at no point in the game is it a powerful class, in addition to the fact that there are no new whips. does anyone know if this will change?

that's strange, I thought the general consensus was that summoner was the strongest class in calamity, and it sort of reversed how it is in vanilla where it's the weakest class
I know I've definitely had an easier time as summoner in calamity than other classes

I always feel like it barely deals any damage compared to other classes and is just generally lacking content and damage
