Hm yeah I hope they re-upload them. Some of them were pretty good.

The mods were removed because he insisted on keeping paywall/paid mod promotion in his description.
I told him that Valve's policies doesn't permit commerce, and I asked him politely to remove those promotion in the description.

It could have gone very simple and smooth, but he decided that removing the mods entirely was a better solution than to remove a single link from his upload descriptions.

Ohhh okay that makes sense. Well, it's a shame, hope he changes his mind.

Maybe on nexusmods, he said he would probably do that there, which I am not to decide anyway.
but here, my interest lies with MetalStar, and anything that can cause issues for MetalStar, I need to step in.
We don't want Steam on our toes for not enforcing their rules so yeah.
Hopefully people can understand, and forgive me for being the reason he acted this way.

Yeah, thanks for understanding :)
In any case, modders are getting better by the day.
if you remember some of John's old outfit on CAA, comparing to his new, you can see MUCH improvement, in texture, materials, in every detail and physics adn on each cloth/meshes.
not to mention map modders are making some REALLY good stuff too.
more and more will come, I have faith in that there will be more people who make mods for this game, because of their passion of creating mods and to lift the game in ways no other games would ever see, especially AAA games!

TKA forever man <3

No problem my man, yeah mods are getting better and better day by day. John Doe is damn legend :D I remember there was, what 12 clothings in total or something? He really upped his game. I love TKA, and hopefully there will be more games like TKA.

I don't think it was only Maxavier's mods this "suggestion" killed off. There was this new secretary dress using resources from DAZ3D, which I don't think was from him. Also a lot of wanba mods.

This is also not the first time a sudden mod removal has happened. The last time was also annoying, to say the least.

Can we please not take things so seriously as to piss off people willing to spend time to create stuff and put it up here?

One consideration: If they want to make money off their creations, that is fine. But they uploaded their creations to Steam, so they don't earn anything from these uploaded mods. If they put up an advert link in the description, which would be protected by the Steam link guard anyway, and make a hint at additional services for mods in the descriptions - why not? It is your choice as user to click and/or use these. If things go over the top, Steam will sort them out.

Why would you possibly, as a community manager, do something that actually harms engagement with the game?

Only links I ever saw were Discord links with some text regarding "paid mods", never once saw any direct link to any third party site for making payments, transactions, etc., I only saw Discord links, which is a very common thing for mod authors to do and can even be seen in Valve's own games here on Steam, as someone who subscribes to mods directly from the workshop and prefers to avoid Nexus, I think I'll just start using Nexus for this game, and I don't even care for the more explicit mods, this just seems like a more personal issue than a legal one.

I as a community manager have to act on things that doesn't comply with valve's policies.
if we continuesly ignore moderation where it is needed, it can hurt the development team of this game, now I don't think it will be so severe that the game will be taken off steam, but if we don't act, we might get workshop removed entirely.
so what do we want? workshop available, or no workshop? at the cost of one or two modders who feel like they got restricted? when everyone who ever created an steam account agreed to these terms in steams EULA?

That Discord server only served one goal, and it was to sell mods.
when you join, you get restricted from channels, need to verify your discord to their server, and when you done that, you have 2 public channels, and a lot of "preview" channels for mods which all say "buy this, buy that"
so ofc this will not be allowed here.
hidding in a discord for commerce purpose or a website is the same thing, it is promoting paid mods and nothing else.

Sounds like a boring Discord server, but this is all rather pathetic and sounds more personal.

Nothing personal at all.
I talk with Max and Wanba on WeChat all the time, and I have nothing against them at all
I don't mix my emotions and my job with eachother here, and I need to enforce the policies given to every member but also community managers.
There has been been turned a blin eye to these matters for a long time, but I am here to follow up on those that got neglected (If you look at screenshots, most of every nude screenshots was taken down too, there were so many I understand one moderator would become exhausted doing so, but I am very persistent and take my responsibillities and my job seriously so I will not miss anything that doesn't follow steams policies)
