I want to mod this game, but I have never modded before. is there somewhere I should start? all the places I've seen you need a text editor that can help you search code, and long experience of modding.

I have basic coding experience, enough to know the computer talks to itself in circles and out comes magic. in other words I don't need a walk through but a starting point would be nice.
