Mouse pointer can't move outside the game

I would like to play this game but I can't find how to move the mouse pointer out of the game window. Is there a setting to free the mouse to other apps? ty

you can hit the windows key (if you are on windows) to free the mouse temporarily.
do not do that wile your map is loading, that would crash the game.

I suspect that the edge scrolling is the reason for the mouse capture. Alt+Tab or Windows key seems to be the only option. I will second the warning about not doing that while your save game is loading, it has crashed every time I've done it inadvertently.
