Request for optimizing grenade launcher explosion

I like the grenade launcher but goodness it is eating like 20 FPS it's soo irritating to play with, especially when it exploded closely infront of you. I know there's already a mod for it to eliminate the smoke but it gets rid of the style it ain't fun for me.

Did you use some GL mods? Normally GL can be spammed without much fps drop. The only problem of vanilla GL is probably the flashy blast that looks like a mini flashbang

, though this can be removed via mods that edit textures or particles.

Only some reanimation and removal of the flash. The explosive particles is the problem
