Issue with Alternative Mod Launcher and mod ID, please help?
Okay, so I'm busy preparing for another playthrough, got pretty much everything done mod-wise, except that there are a few duplicate IDs according to AML among the voice packs - in particular the voice pack is still called "examplevoicepack". I know it doesn't matter; the game will load all the voice packs just fine, but since I was busy, I figure let's just fix this.

So I go to the mod folder, and lo an behond there's the .xcommod file named examplevoicepack; change the name, doesn't do anything in AML So I open the file and change every instance of examplevoicepack there; still nothing. I go into the folders of the mod, change every instance in file and inside any file I can open of examplevoicepack to a proper name for the mod.

AML still sees the old Mod ID; I right-click on the mod and tell AML to update the mod; still no change to the mod id.

So either I have yet to change the ID, or AML won't update it for some reason.

Anyone have an idea on exactly what I need to change to change the ID and how to get AML to actually recheck and update the mod ID?

make sure to unhide mods, sounds more like a local mod
If the mod was hidden, I wouldn't be able to see it at all, which would include the duplicate ID mention.

You can have both, an uploaded but not published mod and a strictly local mod. Those would interfere with each other. The other thing is that the ID might be the number, not the name. Like you have the various folders of the mods named after their ID. You would want to change that, rather than the name. So ID vs workshop ID
:sighs: It literally shows a pair of mods with the same ID.

Anyway, restarting the launcher finally makes the the launcher see the change; which is annoying, for restarting takes a lot of time. Which is why I'm still lookig for a way to get to launcher to do this update without needing to restart.

Try deleting (after backing them up) settings settings.json and settings.json.bak, you'll lose any mod groupings and other customisations but it might help.

Oh, before that check your mod directories config options, make sure the paths aren't duplicated
